The session will explore how to get the wider community involved in your community-led housing project. We’ve invited two community organisers from two projects that are trying to build a community, not just houses.
The free workshop will take place on Thursday 27 September, 6.00-8.00pm at the Brighthelm Centre (Hanover Room), North Road, Brighton, BN1 1YD
Sam Kinch joins us from the Heart of Hastings project that intend to build, purchase or renovate housing across the town that will remain affordable forever. They are using innovative approaches to community ownership and community-level social investment.
Keith Brown is working as a Community Organiser for Nationwide. He is working to build community around Oakfield Campus, a significant new housing development in Swindon. His role is to ensure those living locally are supported to have their say on the number and mix of properties to be built, and to help create positive change in their neighbourhood.
Places are limited, so booking is essential. Book your place here on Eventbrite.
Attendance is free, but we ask all participants to become members of the Brighton & Hove Community Land Trust which costs £1. You can join here: https://bhclt.org.uk/membership
